Vote Space Young Carers for Tesco Stronger Starts Grant

Welcome to Space @ The Broomhouse Hub

The last few years have been difficult for everyone, with COVID-19 and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis hitting deprived communities especially hard.

At Space, we care.

For more than 30 years, we’ve worked hard to build a better future for the people of Broomhouse, Parkhead, and Sighthill, as well as the wider South West Edinburgh area.

However, we still have much to do. Find out more about our work to support the people of all ages and backgrounds who live in our community, the impact we make, and why we won’t give up on those who need us most.

Our Services

Below are some of the key projects and services we deliver at Space @ The Broomhouse Hub as part of our commitment to supporting people from all walks of life.

The Beacon Club

Our super social day service for older people at risk of isolation or with mild cognitive impairment. We provide, transport, food, and activities, as well as outings.

Carers Support

We provide help for carers—from age five through adulthood; there is no upper age limit. Support, advice, social occasions, and more are available for anyone in a caring role.

Training Academy

Looking for a job or to kickstart a career? Left school but not sure where to go next? Our employability, parents’ groups, and training can help get you to your destination.

Youth and Families

Friday Youth Club, weekly Bookbug story time, befriending for disadvantaged young people who are in kinship care or have additional challenges in their lives, and more.

Vintage Vibes

This is our befriending service (in partnership with LifeCare) for people 65 or older, who are experiencing isolation and want companionship within their community.

Catering Services

We prepare and provide healthy, delicious food that doesn't cost the Earth through our community café, events catering, and our social enterprise venture, Outta Space Pizza.

We are always listening to the needs of our community members, so if you have any questions or suggestions you want to send our way, get in touch via email (admin@spacescot.org) or phone (0131 455 7731).
